Creative visual storytelling approaches involve the appropriation or re-appropriation of technology by the participants. These processes are not driven by the use of the technology. Instead participants learn to use the technology to create, share and amplify their own stories.
Technology is used in a playful and open way through these processes, making it accessible to people irrespective of their previous level of exposure and experience with technology. A range of different digital technology and equipment is possible, depending on the context in which it will be used. These processes incorporate technology in a way that is relevant to people’s own lives, using the storytelling process to explore what this looks like.
